David MacPherson earned his Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and Percussion Performance in 2021. He is now an Elementary Music Teacher at Hurt Elementary School in Hurt, VA. He teaches percussion at Gretna, Chatham, and Dan River High School throughout the marching band season. He started playing drums at the age of 11. Since then, he has learned to play orchestral percussion and drum set. David plays in a wide variety of styles and settings and continues to play in the Lynchburg area. He loves teaching in the one on one setting making each student his priority and having a unique lesson ready for them. Not only can he teach percussion, he can also teach piano after playing since elementary school. In both piano and percussion lessons he will include music theory, different styles and how to work with other musicians to help make a well-rounded musician.
