David Saleeba is the band director at Laurel Park Middle School with Henry County Public Schools, and is an adjunct instructor of band and small ensembles at Ferrum College. In addition to teaching duties, he is a freelance trumpeter in and around the Roanoke, VA area. Mr. Saleeba is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education. He went on to continue his studies at the University of South Florida where he received a master’s degree in jazz performance. He has performed with ensembles in a wide variety of genres and styles.
On the classical side, has performed with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, the Piedmont Wind Symphony, the Roanoke Chamber Brass Quintet, and in numerous church settings. Mr. Saleeba has also been an in demand jazz performer. He has performed with Diane Schuur, jazz trumpeter Greg Gisbert, and now performs with Roanoke’s own “Sway Katz” , a big band which boasts many professional musicians and educators.
Mr. Saleeba has professional memberships with NafME (National Association for Music Education) and ITG (International Trumpet Guild). He resides in Ferrum, VA with his wife and two children.
