Mike Burstein has been a musician for over 40 years and a teacher of music since 1990. Originally from Philadelphia, Mike has called the Lynchburg area home since 1978. He has a passion for sharing his musical experience and knowledge with his students, working to provide them with the right tools to not only read the music on the page but to also think creatively! Mike’s stylistic interests cover a wide number of genres and time periods. Some of his biggest influences are Warren Hayes, Phil Keaggy, Larry Carlton, and RUSH.
When he isn’t teaching Mike can be found in the recording studio he owns, currently working on his second CD or with his family. He and his wife, Lisa, have been together for 27 wonderful years and their adult son is living his dream life in New York City.
