Ricardo “Rico” Gill has been playing the piano since the age of 12. He grew up in a religious home where it was noticed at an early age that he was musically gifted. He started playing the drums at age 8 but quickly fell in love with the piano as he became a little older. Rico consistently performed with his school’s gospel choirs and often with the general performing arts groups all through his adolescent education. In sixth grade, under the teaching of David Lipps, he learned to read music while playing trombone in the Madison Middle School band. In college, sports and football subsided and music became the focus of Rico’s attention. He attended Berkley Online to study Music Theory and he later received his Bachelor’s in Music from Full Sail University. Rico is proud to have learned play by ear, the true fundamentals of the piano and a greater understanding of the language we call music. Rico plays for many local churches and is afforded the opportunity to travel making music full time. He has been on stage and played for a number of award winning gospel artists. Now he finds great joy in teaching others how to play the piano.
